All Dressed Up and No Place to Go

I take a lot of pictures of my dog doing various things, not because he’s really that interesting, but because he’s really stinking cute and can’t complain when I bust out the camera to record his crazy antics.

At some point in time after I adopted Jasper, I decided dressing him up in cute sweaters or costumes would be a good idea, and have since amassed a small collection of dog clothes for him. Most of the time I left him roam naked, but on special occasions (mainly holidays, or just when it starts to get cold outside) I’ll dress him up.

Even though most people think he’s not a fan of wearing clothes, I disagree, because one time he actually sat patiently in front of his clothes basket when he realized it was cold outside, and refused to budge until I put a sweater on him.

I’ve selected some of my favorite pictures of J-Rock (one of the many, many nicknames he’s acquired over the last four years) to share.

I could never get mad at that face. Or his little skinned legs from his first vet visit.

Back then, he was small enough to fit into my purse, or in the palm of your hand.

Jasper as a puppy with his buddy Trebek, and sporting a sweet argyle sweater.

Ready to hit the beach, go out on the boat, or just take the tractor for a spin.

Ready for a cold St. Louis winter. Yes, he’s wearing a sweater and a coat.

Dogs need Halloween costumes too.

Ready to watch some football with “Grandpa” Tom.

Tis the season to wear ridiculous holiday shirts… even for dogs.

The only thing better than ugly Christmas sweaters is ugly holiday themed dog costumes.

The newest addition to his wardrobe– a penguin suit for the fancy gentleman. Cutest penguin. EVER.

Judging by these pictures, I might have a small problem, but I still think he looks pretty cute all dressed up. And he’s pretty much ready for any occasion.

How do you feel about dogs in clothes? Is it cute or creepy?

Your dog is adorable in all his costumes! I would love to dress my dog Sasha up. But I have bought two sweaters and both were too small. She is a big dog but I wanted her to have something to wear in the winter. It was a shame they didn’t fix. The first one especially was so cute. I did buy a dress for her ones but that didn’t go over well with her either lol. Never hesitate t opost more pics of your doggy! 😉

Aw, that’s a shame that your dog is too big for clothes. I’ve seen some interesting DIY projects where people have turned adult sized t-shirts into dog shirts, so I imagine you could also do that for a sweater to be able to keep Sasha warm in the winter. Don’t worry, I’m sure the Jasper pictures will keep coming– I have tons already that haven’t made their way online yet. 🙂
