Yes, Please: The Fabulous Fox

One of my favorite things about St. Louis is the availability of theater performances, and being able to spend an evening with my best friend enjoying a Broadway caliber musical without needing to travel all the way to New York for one night.

Fox TheatreOver the years, I’ve attended many shows at The Fox, and have never had a bad experience there.

Even from seats in the very back row at the top of the balcony the acoustics are amazing, and a pair of binoculars is an easy solution to get a clear view of the action on the stage.

Earlier tonight,  I was blown away by Wicked, one of the few shows I’ve been willing to see multiple times.

It had been a few years since the last time I’d seen this one, so it was a special treat for me to see it once again with my best friend, Heather, as the first time we saw this one was about five years ago and it was something we went to together.

Even though I often find myself listening to tracks from Wicked all of the time (it’s in my iTunes library, so they pop up when I have it on shuffle), there’s just something a little extra special and amazing about a live performance. Seeing the story acted out on stage and accompanied by beautiful dance numbers moves something in me, and I find myself entranced by the action on the stage.

Having such a beautiful theater available in St. Louis is something I’m very happy about, and I always leave with a smile on my face… and plans in my head about the next show I’ll want to see there.

Have you been able to take in a show at this theater? Or (if you also enjoy live musicals) is there another place you’ve found that you like better?
