Shameless Movie Obsession Confession: Pitch Perfect

A few months ago, I watched a little movie that was released last year (2012) that you may have heard of: Pitch Perfect.

Since that afternoon viewing, I can’t seem to get the songs from the movie out of my head.

I went into watching this movie with reservations, because I assumed it was going to be another musical flop, or just be a rip off of the show Glee (which I stopped watching after the first season or two), but I discovered that my assumptions were incorrect.

Sure, Pitch Perfect  does have some flaws and clichés, but the a capella singing is so great in some scenes that I’m willing to forgive the other cheesy parts of the movie. I can’t help but sing along when I hear some of the songs.

I’m not really ashamed of the fact that I liked this movie, but I am a little embarrassed to admit that I’ve watched clips of my favorite performances a few times on YouTube, and have even been debating the idea of purchasing a copy of the movie.

My fear with buying it is that I’ll want to have it playing all the time in the background when I’m home and it will become a distraction for other things I need to do. So for now I’ll stick to just pulling up the parts I want to watch on YouTube, or turning on my favorite songs that I’ve caved and downloaded to my phone within the last few weeks… and of course sing along if no one else is around.

Have you ever experienced a similar response to a movie or show?
