Getting Back on Track

It’s been quite a while since I’ve written anything new and I’ve been telling myself any number of excuses to explain why I’d stopped writing, but the time for excuses is over and I’m committing to getting back in the habit again.

Lately with my work and school schedule, as well as my need to have some sort of social life and schedule regular workouts, I’ve just felt like there weren’t enough hours in the day to also squeeze in a new blog post. Also, after the first couple of weeks went by without a new post and no one was calling me out on my slacking off, I just kind of gave up because if no one was missing my musings enough to point it out to me, then obviously my thoughts weren’t that important or valued in the first place so why even bother writing.

Earlier this evening I realized that by not sitting down to write even if it’s just for myself I was only making myself feel worse and letting my thoughts fester uncontrollably. After a long free writing session– most of which will never see the light of day– I decided that even if no one is reading what I have to say I’m still going to get myself back on track and write something new at least every other day.

I’m also planning on trying out some different types of things to write about and hopefully find a clear direction that I want this blog to have. It’s way past time to get back on track, and I’m open to suggestions for future topics– I have a growing list of things I can write about, but having more ideas always seems like a good plan.
